Stuart
Ostrow's Musical Theatre Lab
For two years, I participated in this wonderful program. One half was made up of writers and directors who created one-act musicals (or the first act of a full musical) and the other half was made up of the actors, singers, and dancers who interpreted them. The first year, I played Patrice Bombelles in Ring Round the Moon and Edmond Dantes in The Count of Monte Cristo. The second year, I played Charles Bovary in Madame Bovary and Joshua in the second act of Ring Round the Moon. |

Another huge part of working with Stuart Ostrow at the University of Houston was being in the workshop of this musical. I played fast talking Edward Edwards. It was absolutely thrilling to work with these people. It was also Jerry Bock's first show as composer and lyricist. In the top middle picture, I'm with the legendary composer, Jerry Bock and his wife, Patti. In the top right, I'm with actors, Pippa Winslow and Mike Burstyn. In the bottom left, I'm with the legendary writer, Jerry Sterner. In the bottom middle, I'm with choreographer, Sarah Miles, and director, Lou Jacob. In the bottom right, I'm with music director, Steven Sterner. |
